Big brother is watching you surf...

I can't remember if we mentioned this before: It's probably a good idea to get rid of your Google toolbar. You can still use Google, but dont incorporate it into your browser. It's spyware. Read more
Other web-crawlers are alltheweb and inktomi, which is now owned by Yahoo! :::sigh::::

Tech jobs down

Were you wondering where your job (or all those former co-workers' jobs) went to?
The American Electronics Association showed a decline of more than 500,000 high-technology jobs in the United States from January 2001 to December 2002. The report, based on monthly employment data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, found that technology jobs dropped to 5.1 million from about 5.7 million during the two-year period. --NY Times

If that were all, the US economy could easily absorb the loss. But jobs have been lost in just about every sector as companies stave off losses by shipping operations overseas into low-paying areas.

Tiny url

This is sort of cute. I just read about it on the blogger_user_support list. [Thanks, Melanya]

Are you sick of posting URLs in emails only to have it break when sent causing the recipient to have to cut and paste it back together? Then you've come to the right place. By entering in a URL in the text field below, we will create a tiny URL that will not break in email postings and never expires.

**

Tim Rivera posted to the HTML Writers Guild on how to show footnotes above three (for up to three you can use the special characters ¹ and ² (which appear like this: footnote¹, footnote²)

For footnotes numbered above three, use either the HTML element SUP (which is not deprecated), or CSS, like this:

.sup {
vertical-align: super;
font-size: 0.6em;
}

4
<span class="sup">4</span>

...which look like this:
Footnote4 or footnote4
